Why are microservices beneficial?

Microservices are more of an architectural style and an approach to software development than a specific technology. The main idea is to divide the system into small services, where each service carries only one responsibility.

For example, if you have a separate service for notifications, you do not mix it with user registration. Thanks to this approach, each service has its own lifecycle, can be deployed separately, and scaled independently. At the same time, testing services becomes easier.

This approach can be easily combined with architectures such as Hexagonal Architecture, Clean Architecture, Onion Architecture, and even Modular Monolith.

Microservices do not replace these architectures. The microservice approach mainly focuses on which services the system is divided into and how. Architectures like Hexagonal, Clean, and Onion, on the other hand, focus on how the code is organized within each service.

Thus, we end up with services that are cleaner, more manageable, testable, and easier to develop in the long term.
