📚 You studied for 2 hours. You closed the book. How much do you remember?
Simply reading the same topic over and over might give you the feeling that you “learned” it. But one of the methods that truly strengthens memory is trying to recall the information yourself.
This is called Retrieval Practice.
For example:
❌ Reading the topic 4 times again
✅ Reading the topic once, closing the book, and asking yourself questions
Check it like this:
1. Read the topic
2. Close the material
3. Write down what you remember
4. Ask yourself 5–10 questions
5. Go back to the parts you got wrong
6. Check again after a few days
The main idea:
It is not your brain seeing the information, but its effort to retrieve it from memory that strengthens learning. 🧠
Close a topic you read today and prepare 5 questions for yourself. How many will you be able to answer?
